This four-year schooling program is to cultivate students with solid basic theoretical knowledge of Chinese language and literature, systematic basic theories and methods of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, proficiency in a foreign language, comprehensive understanding of Chinese and foreign cultures, strong intercultural communication skills. Meanwhile students could have practical skills and research competence in teaching Chinese, and could be competent to teach Chinese as a foreign language and engage in occupations related to Chinese and foreign cultural exchange. Upon graduation, this program would offer bachelor’s arts degree.
The core courses for this program include: Introduction to Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language, Modern Chinese Grammar Analysis, Cross-cultural Communication, Applied Linguistics, General Theory of Chinese Culture, Ancient Chinese Literature, Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Foreign Literature, Language and Multiculturalism, and Introduction to Second Language Acquisition.
